Im debateing on getting bass pans or making me a wood floor with marble tile but was wondering if the grout will hurt the chins.

I still love the plain old pan with shavings. I have tried many other things and always come back to this

I dont think people grout the tile. They just sit the pieces side by side together. I may be wrong though. That way if you need to take the pieces out to wash them off you can.

I had tiles in for a while and I didn't use grout. It worked really well be because there was no sides I ended up getting Bass Pans. Very worth it. The tiles looked nice and After just sweeping up the poops a quick wet towel was all I needed to keep them looking pretty but the poo out the sides was rediculous so I got the Pans and put my fleece liners back in.

I just have the tiles sitting in there next to each other. :)

Just remember that once a month it is good to take the tiles out and clean the tiles overall and underneath. Urine will slip thru the cracks. So a good clean up is necessary to keep it's environment clean and safe of any mildew, etc.

I will one day find a way to have tile grouted floors that aren't 50 lbs so they can be removed and properly cleaned... I don't know how to get that just yet though... I did try it without the grout but the poop got stuck in the cracks, ALWAYS!! Just using pans and fleece for now...

You could use marble or granite. You don't have to use grout for these tiles, you could always glue the four corners so the tiles don't move. And pop them out when they need cleaning or wipe them down.

I had a idea but need to know if the grout would be bad for a chin

As long as you grout correctly and let it set for 24 hours, they shouldn't be able to bite or be able to chew it. You want it level with the tile. Make sure you don't add too much water if you do, then the grout will crack and they will be able to get the pieces out. When I bring my chins out for playtime, my floor where I put the playpen is tile and they don't mess with the grout. You could always put a glass pan with pine shavings in there for a litter box.

OH I do use a bake bowl for there litter pan.Im just thinking about making this weed tray and making a tile floor in it. but i dont know i might just get bass pans and use fleece
