Thinking about building a playpen?

I have drawn my plans out, if you guys have suggestions for me, please let me know. I currently have one of those store bought play pens and he just keeps climbing out and I have cardboard taped to the top so he doesn't get out and it's just not large enough I feel.

I'm no artist, but here is a rough sketch:

Being it is mesh, the chin may be able to scale it or just jump over 48in, the highest one of mine jumped from a running start over a gate was 60in, chin was young and light, my fatties would not be able to do that.

Yeah I thought about that but mine is a fatty hehe and he can't even jump over the 24 inch one. Though, I am about to get a young one in less than two weeks so I am not so sure about him.

If the young one is too frisky you could add up on the sides later or build a roof!

That's probably the best idea. I was trying to think of something that can fold together for storage but I could still make that work with hinges and a lock on the roof maybe?

Yeah, I am probably going to end up making a roof and putting the lock on that with hinges so it can open.

A bedsheet might work for a roof, especially if you're going to be supervising the whole time. One of my boys can jump from the floor to the kitchen counter with no problem.

I made mine out of cardboard pieces. The place I got the card board from was recommended here. It works out great. Talk enough she can't get over. I made 2 sides and it runs the whole perimeter of her room. Folds up like an accordion and stores easy.
