Suki is just a problem child... This is another thread about her and her strangeness.

I'm wondering...She has a thick tail. Like, really thick, not like any chin's I've ever met before. it's not that the hair on her tail is extra thick, it's that the bone or the muscle is dense.

Anybody else have a chin like this? I'm not sure what it could mean or if it's just normal for some chins. She's a pink-white or some sort of beige (or are pink whites some sort of beige?)...could it be a trait that these guys have? Could it be from trauma to the tail, perhaps rough handling?

Sorry for posting so many times about her...I just don't know if I ought to be concerned or not, and I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to my chinnies.

Hi! I don't know the answer to your question (since I am new to chinchillas), but I really want to see a picture of two of her and her tail!!!!!!!!!! Can you please post pics?

I would say as long as its not red or irritated or she isnt messing with it or you dont see any open wounds or scabs where it could be infected then I would say that its normal for her!

It's a genetic thing. The traditional Brevi chins had very short (maybe 3") very thick tails. We're talking bigger around than your thumb. Always a surprise when you grab one of those.

The other end is the very long skinny tails. Skinny as your pinky! Most chins run in between the two extremes.
