thanks, its what you get when your mother is a neat freak. the room wasnt that big and when my brother moved out i was able to take over his room but the chins stayed in my old bedroom. its been like that for years but recently we grew too big for the room so i bought a building and with the help of my parental unit (dad) we got it set up for the chins.

This is a great thread :) I love the mention of the aol cds, those things never stopped coming in the mail.

I defintly made some bad choices when it came to my first chins. I used that big clear plastic ball like crazy... thought it was the greatest way for my chins to get exercise.
Also I had those terrible plastic bottom cages that only lasted maybe 6 months or less because they always chewed an enormous hole in the bottom.
And then i finally got smart and got online joined CnQ and found some good info talked to good people, went to shows, started showing and the rest is history!

I got Polo when I was a Jr in college (2005). He lived with me in Santa Cruz for a year and then I moved him to my boyfriends apartment for the next year. Small super pet cage, plastic water bottle, kaytee food with all the fun pieces of corn and green thingies and sunflowerseeds and such. Also temperatures of 90 or more. In Santa Cruz I didn't have a working A/C so he just sat through it. I did get him a chinchiller to sit on but with temps hitting 90 I don't think it cooled him all that much. At my boyfriends apartment, well, its in the central valley of CA and it his 110 regularly over the summer. They only used the A/C when they were home so Polo sat in the heat all day until someone came home to cool him off.

Oh yeah! He also chewed a hole in the bottom of his cage at my boyfriends apartment so we shoved a towel through the hole so he couldn't get out. lol.

Polo is alive and kickin still. He now lives in a FN with his buddy Baba. They have tubes, wheels, hammocks, tons of toys, quality food, and hay. I also tend to run the A/C MORE when i'm not sure to make sure there is no heat stroke.

I just got my first chin and I'm currently in college. Luckily I'm on the internet all the time so I found this website before I got my chin. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right. I live in a single bedroom apartment, and my chin's QC Mansion takes up my entire bedroom (cage doesn't fit in the living room cuz of all my furniture). Maybe I'll take some pictures later. I sleep every night with the risk of my chin throwing poop pellets my way haha. Luckily I've only found poop in my bed during the day when I'm not sleep. I can't wait till I have a bigger place.
