My mom is cooking but I think we are having:

Turkey
Ham
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Dressing
Dumplings
Cranberry sauce
Carrots
Green Beans
Rolls
Probably fruit salad
Pumpkin pie
and I am making my apple struedle cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting

So glad you posted this Laurie, I love talking food!
We're going to my in-laws this year, in SC. I really wish we weren't going, because I love getting in the kitchen and cooking all day, but his mom is making:
roasted turkey breast
homemade mac n' cheese
mashed potatoes
sweet potato souffle- that gags me. I love sweet potatoes but detest all that sugary syrupy marshmallowy crap all over them. :vomit:
There will also be a large Papa John's pepperoni pizza, since one of the kids won't eat anything except that. NOT my kid.
Not sure what else they will cook, but we're taking a smoked turkey, smoked pork butt, caramel swirl cheesecake, homemade Chex mix and fire crackers- these cheesy, spicy little things with rice krispies.

Thanksgiving at my house will have
-Deep fried turkey
-mashed potatoes and gravy
-stuffing (in the oven not the bird)
-stuffed mushrooms
-stuffed celery
-rolls
-squash
-corn
and on the dessert menu will be
-apple pie
-choc cream pie
-pecan pie
-anise cookies
I plan on having diet coke with vanilla vodka in my glass all day long - always a fun time when my mom and/or boyfriends grandma is over - even more so when they are both at my house at the same time.
Cheers
Jeanne

Turkey (next year I SWEAR I'm getting a deep fryer for this)
Cranberry pecan dressing
Mashed taters and gravy (redskins with the skin on, makes awesome taters)
Cornbread casserole
Homemade mac 'n cheese
Candied yams
Deviled eggs (always)
Croissant cream cheese wrap
Homemade sweet rolls
Cranberry bread
Spinach/bacon quiche (Kody is making it!!!)

Mixed berry cobbler with old fashioned vanilla ice cream
Pumpkin pie with whipped cream, of course
Cracker candy
Custard pie

I have absolutely no idea why so much food since there are only 4 of us this year, but I feel compelled to cook, so I am!

Come on over Stack. As a door prize for exiting guests, I have a 10 hole carrier filled and ready to go.

Mwahahaha!

I have to squeeze 3 Thanksgiving meals into 5 hours. How I love having a separated family.....it's more stressful than anything, trying to please everyone. If you don't stay long enough at one or don't eat enough, they get offended and you feel bad. *sigh*

Same here!

This year, I'm not having Thanksgiving with my family since they are all out of state and Chris wrecked his car. I wasn't sure if he would have a car or not, so I decided to just stay here. I'll have Thanksgiving with him and his mom at the Hilton. They always eat out.

When I go to Tennessee, I'm torn between my mom and my dad and what times they are eating and I didn't eat enough or stay long enough. When I'm here I just have Chris and his mom - so it's a lot simpler!

Oooo. . .This is a fun thread. This year I'm spending thanksgiving on my moms moms side (grandmas side). There will be about 40 of us and thats the "small" side of the family. Menu looks like this:

fuzzy melon soup
2 turkeys
Ham
crab
rice
baked potatoes
"chinese stuffing" = sticky rice with chinese sausage, mushrooms, oysters and other goodies
2 types of gravy
cranberry sauce
chinese chicken salad
asparagus
pig feet
hawaiian sweetbread
and possibly spicy prawns with veggies.

I think I covered the main meal. :D We also get lumpia for our appetizer and dessert is always an adventure.
