Would a terranium liner be appropriate to put in a chinchillas cage? They're very easy to clean and would seem a much better choice than the straw mats I use.

These are the liners I'm talking about http

Thanks

I would not use something like that. I could not find what it is made of, but I doubt it is edible, plus chins tend to have stronger urine than reptiles. I don't know that it would be cost effective or safe.

Other options, that are chin safe, would include pine shavings or fleece. Several members, including myself sell fleece liners. Or if you're not looking for anything fancy you can always buy a couple yards at your local fabric store and just fold it to the size you need.

Thanks. I didn't really think it would be safe but the pet shop I work at gave it to me for free so I thought it'd be worth a try. And Brittany I will definitely look into buying a fleece liner from your store.

Yeah I actually use that for my RES basking area. A chin would more than likely go to town on it.

It is also pretty much not absorbent at all either.
