Ok--that give me some definite perspective. At first I was thinking, ok, Dante looks like Chloe when he eats but then I realized how slowly he was eating the raisin and about 20 seconds in you can see the slow chewing very well. She kind of chewed like that right before she pawed at her mouth (which hasn't happened since I posted). Also, beginning at about 4 or so seconds in you can tell he is really trying to pull the raisin apart as opposed to chew it. And at 40 seconds he does those small, quick chews that Lu does more of.

Lu is more like the way Chloe eats. But Lu is not the "control" chin? Hhhmmm...maybe I'll move some stuff around and try again at the video of Chloe eating (the camera barely catches any light so the one's I've taken are so dark you can hardly see them. And it's a crappy camera that can't capture speed well, but I'll try).

That was a pretty funny video of Guido. He facial expression is a cross between murderous rage and overwhelming fatigue. I can't really tell which or if it's both and how much of each, hehe. Sometimes if Chloe's sleepy she'll just let me put something or my finger in her mouth and just kind of stare at me like that ha!! I just watched the video again with the sound on and when you made that little muffled giggle I couldn't help but laugh aloud. He just looks so silly!!!!

I haven't weighed her tonight yet, I usually do it a little after 8pm. Last night she lost exactly one gram, which I was upset about but I will just have to wait and see if the loss will continue or not.

Guido was going to be the control chin until he copped a attitude so Lu became the normal chin as to how he eats! And yes that was murderous rage!

Ok, ok. This is literally the worst video ever but it's all I could do. The resolution is painful and I keep moving so it might be slightly nauseating. Pretty much the first minute you can ignore. I gave her a shreddie. I was thinking of giving her a raisin to compare times with but she's never had one here so I wasn't sure about it. I can't tell you how quick she ate the shreddie, second wise because she never finished it before realizing the cage door was open and that was the end of that.

Side note, the first second or two you can see an upturned cage with hay and tuperware in it (you can't really make out what it is, it just looks like stuff) next to the purple bath house on the floor. That was the cage she lived in before!! So tiny!! I now keep all her stuff in it instead and use it as a travel cage.

I just weighed her and she gained 9 grams...I think my scale is messed up. I know this may be normal for some chins, but my Chloe used to rarely fluctuate. I put velcro on the scale and under the bowl last night and I'm thinking it might make it tip to one side of the velcro and mess up the reading. But it would only have messed up tonight and last night's reading and last nights was about the same as the night before. I don't know...GAH!! Ah, well.

And I just gave her a raisin (first one ever) just to compare times but I had to count in my head and it was around 10-12 seconds. Made it super easy to weigh her though!!

Now she's all hyped up on sugar and starch...I've created a carb-loaded popcorning monster!!! ahahhaha!!

A chin with anything wrong in the mouth would not eat that much of the shreddie, it might take a nibble but would discard pretty quick. She looked fine to me, her eyes showed no pain, she was not wincing, her chewing looked good. I think my step kid looked good!

YAY!! Glad to have an optimistic opinion!! I noticed her eyes weren't fully open but I was shining a lamp on her to get enough light through the camera to make the video visible. Poor Chloe, I just shove things in her face and poke and prod her all the time, hehe.

Well, maybe she had something stuck in her mouth or maybe she had a little cut, like Stackie said, that healed on it's own. I will continue to watch and weigh her every night, though, just to be sure. And if she did have a cut make sure I don't see any signs of infection or irritation.

Thank you Dawn (and everyone else who replied as well, all helpful). Your step-chin appreciates it!!!
