Ok everyone, I'm on the hunt for my second tattoo! I'm hoping to go and get it Tuesday, and I have my idea in mind. Obviously, I'm going to go down and talk to the artist hopefully tomorrow... Get an idea of pricing and stuff. But I need help finding wings. This is going to go on my upper back, shoulderblade area... And it's going to be a barb wire heart. I found a design for the heart I love, and I'm linking it. So. Any help? Also, guesstimates on how much it's gonna cost me? I'm figuring it shouldn't run me more than like $100... My first tattoo was $180, and it's big and has color, whereas this is gonna be straight black and white... And this one won't be as big as the pic obviously lol. But I can't shrink it down on the comp without ruining the lines. I'm more likely than not gonna have the artist re-draw it

Here it is

Depends on the shop. I have one tattoo that cost more from one shop and it was smaller and less intricate then a larger one. I am sure the artist can help you with what you want to do/add to it :D

Well, I plan on going to Transcending Flesh (I know you're around my area, so I dunno if you're familiar with the shop or not), and they were going to charge me about the same as the shop I got my first tattoo at for the tattoo. I ended up going to the other shop, though, cuz they could get me in sooner. Big mistake. Lol. So I'd really like to go to Transcending Flesh this time around.

Def depends on the shop & what area you are in (i see lancaster), but if it is smaller than the pic and just in tribal black, i would say maybe 75? I have one on my lower back that has tribal vines & a tribal butterfly (because that is what my last name means in italian), it has a splash of color in it and I got it in New Hope, PA & it is pretty big & i think i paid like 125 or 150 at most.
you have to consider just to open the new needles they have to charge at least 25.

i would hold out for the better shop though................i have one tat that has been redone more than once and i still do not like it. i got it almost 20 years ago on the top of my foot (ouch!). i wish i would have went to somewhere better but at the time i was young & anxious and tattoos were not as popular as they are now, so i was there and was determined to get it!

Yeah, I'm not even going to the other shop this time around. I'm going straight to Transcending Flesh and hoping I can get in. I should be able to... Lol

I like that heart design. So what kind of wings are you looking to add to it? Angel wings?
I would just try to pick out a kind you like online and then have your tattoo artist re-draw the design and add in the wings.
For an estimate I think probably no more than $120 but it does depend on the place.
The place I go to down here are a bit more expensive than the places my friends go to but it's totally worth it, the work my artist does is some of the best!

I'm actually thinking very simple, linear-type wings. Angel wings or something really detailed wouldn't look quite right with it.

My tattoo man charges by the hour.. not by the detail.. I dont feel I have a lot of detail in mine but mine cost $200 because I kept making him stop like every 10 seconds. He said he COULDVE gotten it done in 45 minutes but with me being a whimp and almost passing out.. it took two hours.

I have no suggestions for you but good luck in finding a set of wings.. And I know this goes without asking but.. dont forget to post pictures!

Not sure if this is too detailed for you but I thought it would look good with the barbed wire:

Bubbles, that looks awesome! Omg, thank you thank you thank you. I'll play around with that tonight, see how it looks with the heart. I'm going to get the heart done on Tuesday for sure. And I'll be asking the artist about wings.

Ok played around with it, this is what I came up with.

I'm thinking maybe do wings like that, but thinner lines, that make sense?

Honestly, I don't like the look of the two together. The wings are too curly to go with the barbed wire look. Maybe it would look better if the lines were thinner, but I'm not a fan of how it is as of right... no offense!!! :)
