They have metal pipe stands they screw together that support the lights.

For a cheaper in-home option you can use a regular light fixture with daylight bulbs. I prefer the regular wattage GE ones to the spiral florescent daylights, got some of the spirals over the weekend and they are 'too blue' (throw a blue cast on my yellow house at night!!).

If you use the recommended show paper ,for home evaluations you have to be care full and make sure it is changed often. While the paper has it's pro's it also has it's cons.
Because it is coated the coating tends to come off with the cages being slid on and off. It also tends to pick up anything off the bottom of the cages (ie galvinization or paint if the cages have been repainted) So for home evaluations use I like the white butcher paper. just make sure it is white and not off white.

How fast did you notice the paper needed to be replaced?

I know this is a bit old.. but figured I'd see if anyone had used these lights that I've been using in my chin room and on the grading table. I hadn't seen this particular brand mentioned before, but it is an F40DX bulb. The CRI is a little higher than the Phillips that Tara listed, but I haven't found Phillips daylight bulbs at Lowes here. I've been using them since July throughout the chin room and I feel that it makes my animals look a little too blue, but I also can spot red a little quicker under them than I've been able to under the show lights at an actual show. I'm not sure if this is because I'm looking at the animals under these lights at all times (even though the distance between the animal and the light is greater).

Sylvania F40/DX Daylight 6500k CRI: 88
