I hope to cease pestering everyone soon, but this was so strange I had to share.

I got my girls, Lilly and Daisy, Sunday. They get along well and they barked the first day.

As of today, Friday, that first Sunday was the only time I heard them bark.

I was changing food and hay out Tuesday and Lilly walked up to my hand and sniffed at it. So, I took advantage and gave her a treat. Took it without a problem. Daisy did the same the next day.

So, Wednesday and on I have been giving treats by hand because they seem to prefer it that way.

Today, I was feeding Daisy and Lilly snarfed her treat down. Lilly jumped on my hand and kept climbing up my arm!

So, I held her and she was OK, I guess. She still scrambled in my hands, but I was very careful to hold her tail the way the breeder showed me. Then Daisy did the same thing!

I thought they would be mad at me after, but they still hop into my hands.

I am still uneasy holding them when they are so intent on squirming and climbing my arm.

It just seemed strange. They are both a little over three months old. Daisy is beige and Lilly is grey.

My chinchilla, Toby, does that all the time. He really just insists on using me as a playground lol. My other chin, Tristan, he will rarely just jump on me, but once I get him out and hold him he is such a snuggle bug.
I'm sure they weren't upset with you that you held them by their tails, just make sure its the base of the tail. Whenever I have my chinchillas on me I always have a firm grip on their tails incase they slip or decide to jump off. Silly chins. Holding them just takes some getting used to, you'll get it eventually. :)

Mine hates to be picked up but loves to run up my arm and sit on my shoulder and chill out up there for awhile.

Typical sweet chinny loving. I have two pink white girls that are a hoot. They have been with me for almost 5 years in the spring. Sunni is the outgoing silly girl. I have them in a cat mansion in which the door bar slides up to fold down a very wide long door. She always runs up to see what she can help me with. Her mom Olivia is rather shy but will sit close enough to investigate. Nothing more pleasing then reaching inside to sweep poo ledges and have Sunni jump on my should and insist on walking all over my me. Inspecting my clothing and hair and checking for earrings. Then I can get her back into her home and they both rather enjoy tugging at my clothes and giving my face the all around groom. I really am blessed by them as they were a neglected case so many years prior to my adopting them.
Sounds like your little ones have adopted you as part of the herd. Enjoy!
