I was just wondering how sellers went about beginning to sell huts and hay boxes. I really enjoy making them and have played with the idea of making them for other people. Thing is, I'm not really sure what type of quality they are, and wanted people to "test" them out for me. They look good to me, but Im not comfortable asking money for something I don't have others opinions on beforehand. Is this something anyone has ever done?

I thought about just charging for the supplies/shipping if I do start making them for other people, to see what people think of them and get feedback. I guess a test product?

Post pictures, figure out if people want them/like the design. Sell them for the parts and labor. Using paypal is great for covering both you and the buyer. Shipping is what is very cost prohibitive, you can attempt to design a box that would be cheaper to ship but most go into a medium flat rate box which is $10.95.

Good luck!

Take some pictures showing all sides. As long as they are safe, put them on the sale thread. I've never had people test my products (I do give wood samples, but thats different) before paying regular price. If you are confident in your product, then it's probably just fine! When you start selling, you'll recieve feedback from your customers.

Pictures, and dimensions. Also for shipping you can get Regional "B" boxes which you need to order and do parcel post (which take longer to deliver) both of these are sometimes cheaper. Both of these you will need to get the person's zip code. I never knew about these until 2 months ago.

I am shipping out dust today 19 lbs in a Regional "B" box to NV the shipping cost $6.98 compared to $11.35 for medium priority box or parcel post $14.26.

Thanks everyone! I'm still making some samples, but thank you for the ideas!
