For the trays, I use a mixture of white vinegar and hot water. It doesn't smell that nice, but it does the job. Also, for wood shelves, alot of people on here say to sand them down.

I use the water and vinegar mixture as well for my pans. I also wipe my shelves down with the water/vinegar mixture. If the shelves are stained from pee, I use peroxide on them. I let the peroxide sit for about 5 minutes, then scrub it with a brush, then wipe the shelf down with a wet cloth.

i use peroxide on my wood. and often just hot water to remove any poo particles and on the sheet metal.
when i do a deep clean i use clorox wipes on the wire part of the cage and then wipe it down with just water to remove any residue. I also use the wipes on the plastic trays, then wipe them with water and then put the fleece liners back on.

Does peroxide take the pee stains off of the wood shelves? I only have one that isn't covered with fleece.

Oh, that's awesome. Do I need to let the shelves dry before letting my chin on them? He is a extra dark ebony... I know what peroxide would do to my brown hair... Haha

I wash my shelves off with a wet cloth after using the peroxide, but I let them dry for a bit before I let the chins back in there..usually because when I do the shelves, I am cleaning the entire cage.

Alright, I am going to try that tonight when I have him out for playtime. Thank you!
