Oh wow! That's sad. I have heard of so many people who had gotten seriously injured while skiing. I was supposed to go skiing this year...but I'm not so sure I want to go any more...

This is so awful, so sad. I feel so sad for her family. I've read that she was taking a lesson on the beginner slopes and fell but she shook it off at the time and that she felt sick later and went to the hospital. It makes my hairs on my arm stand straight up. I just remember my first time on the bunny hill and that chair lift was my total nightmare. I must have fallen and hit my head on the ice at least 4 or 5 times. May she rest in peace, what a terrible accident.

My mom's been following this closely. Yep, she fell while skiing and went back to her hotel, completely fine. Then she felt real sick, was taken to the hospital and ended up in critical condition. The fact that she didn't feel anything was wrong after the fall, and was able to function, is amazing to me, and very scary.

They should make helmets mandatory on ski hills. It's already mandatory for kids here, since a little boy at one of our ski hills hit a tree and died because he had no helmet on... So sad.

Very sad, she was a beautiful lady & had so much going for her. I cant imagine how her family must be feeling. Were they there with her on the slopes?

I heard that she was well & joking about her fall, then about an hour or so later she was feeling really ill.

Something slightly like this happened to my cousin not long ago. Her almost two year old son head butted her on accident. She brushed it off & went on with her day.. later that night she got violently ill, come to find out she had a brain bleed. Who'd have thought something that seemed so minor can be so harsh in the long haul. This all just goes to show any fall, esp one to the head should never be brushed off.

So had she gone in sooner would they have been able to save her? Im still unclear what exactly she died from. I've read she may have had a preexisting issue?

I hadn't heard that she had died. What a terrible tragedy. And from my understanding, she was getting lessons? If that is true, how did she get herself into a life-threatening predicament? Where was her trainer? What a terrible loss for her family...

Yeah I've heard it on the news, since the ski accident just happend in Quebec, they talked a lot about it. It's really sad. It's starting to make me think I should buy an helmet next time I go ski... I'm wondering why did she decline to go to the hospital. Once I had a bad fall and they really insisted, almost tiwsted my arm that they should call the ambulance. In the end everything was fine, but better be safe than sorry.

I was thinking along the same thing. Like for example brain aneurysms. This is what my Mom passed away from. Doctors told us that sometimes a person can be walking around with a ticking time bomb in their head, and some type of head trauma can bring it forth.
Either way my heart just breaks for her family, and for the young boys now with out a mother.

This story just breaks my heart. As a fan of Liam Neeson I remember when he and Natasha married and I thought what a beautiful couple they made. She is a wonderful actress and has done so much for the fight against AIDS/HIV.
I never expected to hear something like this--Patrick Swayze yes as he's been battling pancreatic cancer, but never this.
It breaks my heart to think her sons were without their father as she was skiing with them and Liam had to leave the set of Chloe to rush to her side. They didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to each other--so, so sad.
