They are really cute :)). I use the penny candy style jar from Walmart but in all honesty I have some big girls and it seems to be a little small for them now thought they still roll like crazy in it. If your chins are on the smaller side (600g or less) then it is a good size and pretty inexpensive. You can use anything though, baking pans, large pickle jar, fish bowl...etc.

Such cute chins you have! I liked the boy's picture it looked he was sleeping peacfully, youshould definately consider calling him sleepy!

you sure have some cute chins! :)

p.s. MOD = Manager on Duty, we use the same term at the store I work at (not a petsmart)

Just a brief update on the pair of rescues. Today marks day 3 of their quarantine and adjustment to their new home. They also both got custom hidey huts that I made today according to their personalities. The girl has an easier to access design with one side fairly open and a peak hole in the back. The boy has an enclosed design on all sides except the front. Since he loves to jump and wall walk so much I decided to give his hut an extra large porch out front. His open wall has a little piece of wood that over hangs as well, which also serves as a little step up onto the roof. He likes wedging himself between the roof and the top of the cage.

We had the little guy out tonight for a little bit of play time. He gladly greets us at the cage and will quickly jump onto your hand if you hold your palms flat and up. Once he is on he usually thinks it is a great idea to run up your arm.

Today at lunch he was out and about while I was taking some cage measurements. I let him climb my arms and he decided what a great idea it would be to also sit on my shoulder, then walk across my shoulders behind my neck and down my other arm.

They both appear to be eating and drinking. I've noticed a change in the shape and general texture and appearance of their poops.

This evening they even both spent a few minutes in their clean dust baths, rather than the dust bath the owners had in their cage 24/7. The first two days with us I think they were too stressed to desire or feel safe taking the first two dust baths offered to them.

He is such a sleeper. Neither of our girl chins sleep as soundly as he seems to. He will gladly keep sleeping with his eyes cloud curled up in this little sitting position even when I'm in checking up on them, changing water and checking food and hay.

Today is day 4 of quarantine for these two cute little guys. We are still working on names for them. We've gotten several great suggestions.

Today the post man brought us all sorts of neat chin items. New fleece liners for our first rescue arrived, hammocks for the two new guys and some dust. Toys seem to be arriving a bit slower.

Thought you might enjoy a few updated pictures;

So far the poops are looking better from both rescues. We've introduced both chins to new healthier snacks. They've now tried small amounts of 100% shredded wheat, steel cut oats and Cheerio's.

She really likes her house. We put a small window in the back. She seems to like to be aware of what is happening. We see her often turning around and peaking out the back. The rescue boy has a neat house that I will try and get a picture of. It has 3 walls and a roof, but the floor extends out about 8" to give him a large platform for jumping from and to.

We tried out our new blue cloud dust this evening. All three chins agree that it is fantastic and quite worth rolling around in.

Our little rescue boy was enjoying his new hammock courtesy of CritterLover86!
