Here's the babies now...they're going to their new home with their mama on Saturday. :) I named them Pumpkin and Spookers because I needed names and I said I would name a chin Spookers. :D Pumpkin looks so funny in her picture - it was taken at a funny angle...so she looks like she has a giant head and little baby body.

Their mama is going with them. They have to stay together. She loves those little babies and she'd be lost without them. I think that the only reason why she pulled through was to be a mother for those little ones. Amelia was malnourished and I am amazed that just having her on good food and some supplementation for the last two months of her pregnancy was enough for her to deliver two healthy kits.

Anyway...they just have to go together. I told everyone, who was just interested in the kits, that I would rather keep all three chins forever than separate them just to find them a home more quickly.

Oh I see, in your post where it says "with their mama" I was thinking human mama. Good, I am so glad they are able to stay together! I hope they continue to be spoiled in their future home.

LOL You're right! They're going with a new human mama, too. :)

The people, who are taking the girls, already know they are special and have to be loved. They'll be spoiled, it's a requirement. Plus, those faces, how could you ever not spoil those little faces? They're really big into shredding up toys and eating all their hay...and getting lots and lots of attention from anyone around them...

Right now I am trying to act like I am happy they are going, but I am not happy. I've put in a lot of time with these babies and I'm already getting sad about the thought of them leaving. I know that there will be more rescues that need to come here and be cared for...doesn't make it easier to let them go!

What a happy ending!!! I am so glad these beauties have such a wonderful future ahead of them.

I can't imagine how hard it must be to let them go, even knowing they have a wonderful new home. It takes such a special heart to rescue and foster!!! Big hugs!!!

:hug4:

You found a home for them to go to together??? That's so awesome! I'm glad they are taking all 3. :D

They went to their new home yesterday afternoon. I couldn't pick apart anything and say that they couldn't have the chins. The new owners are responsible and will love them and care for them...blah blah blah. I should be super happy that they went to a great new home with lovely people and are going to be able to watch TV all the time....but I miss them.

It was awful. I had to be an adult and not burst into tears...and I didn't do so great. When we were leaving I did my best to hold it back, but I think I ugly cried for a second.

Enough about me. :)

The girls were not stressed at all. They went into their cage and went crazy playing with their new toys for awhile and then the mama (Amelia) started asking for attention with that little sweet face she makes that says, "Come here and look at me!" The people have a little girl, who was a great help as we were getting everything set up...she fell in love with the chins immediately and listened to everything I said. They aren't going to ever be ignored.

So, it went well and the chins are going to be loved. (Even though I feel sad about them leaving here.)

Awww, it wasn't that bad. I think they listened well, under the circumstances. Hopefully they don't take any advice from the MIL about baby carrots and Bob the chinchilla. I'm surprised that Bob is still alive after (years?) of no vet and fresh carrots.
And hopefully they will buy supplies so you can see them every month again! :D Seeing how well Amelia, Pumpkin and Spookers did taking to the new environment and cage shows how well you socialized them prior to the move.
