Nicole was just explaining how ingredient lists can be vague and you might not be getting the healthy grains in your food. Her example was wheat bread. She wasn't saying to feed chins bread, just mentioning that if an ingredient list doesn't specifically say "whole grain wheat", then it's probably overly-processed wheat that's been so highly processed, it's no longer a complex carbohydrate... it's now a simple carbohydrate that is converted immediately to sugar when ingested.
So, no, chins shouldn't have bread. Also, IMO, the burnt toast method for diarrhea isn't even that effective. It is much more effective to just open up a capsule of activated charcoal.
