I picked this up the other day and thought it might be a good alternative to the regular oats. there is nothing added to it, the ingredients just say:
rye, barley, oats, wheat. they look like the regular oats just more "grainy"
i attached a picture of the container. let me know if you think it is okay for an alternate treat.

these are just like the rolled oats but made with rye, barley, oats, wheat instead of just wheat.
i actually bought it for myself but when i saw that there were no other additives i thought maybe it could be used instead of the "pinch" of oats i give my boys as a treat.

maybe i will mix it with the herbs i bought and give them a pinch of the mixture so they would only get 4 or 5 "oats"

i guess us humans consider anything that is marketed to us as "whole grain" as being better than the alternative. I swear they could market "whole grain crack" and we might consider it because it is whole grain. lol

I use a mixture similar to this in my supplement. Chinnies LOVE it, and I've had great success with them!

AND, it's absolutely delicious as a hot cereal as well!

I don't see a problem with it, if it's just grains and not a lot of additives. I haven't read the ingredients.

One thing you do need to watch on food products is things like "wheat bread"... all bread is made from wheat, that's where flour comes from. Usually if it doesn't say "whole wheat" the main ingredients are just the same as white bread, and you're really not getting anything extra over white bread.

Eeeeeyuck! Moon - I bet you like oatmeal too, doncha? <barfs on floor>

Peggy, I have never heard of cocoa wheats...is it a wheat cereal covered in cocoa??? Sounds fishy to me ;) I'll have to check out the cereal isle more closely!

Cocoa wheats sounds DISGUSTING.
YES, I like oatmeal! You pagan, you.

Riven if this is the same stuff I'm talking about it's 5 whole grain cereal or something like that, and is really fantastic.

Well my daughter and nephew love the "puppy chow" I make it with Crispix, peante butter, peanuts and powdered sugar. It does taste like Reese cups ,but it looks just like the Purina Puppy Chow that we used to feed our puppies a really long time ago.

So chins can eat bread?
