Prayers please for a grieving family...

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and your pm's. The reason I never posted what really happened is because I didn't want to start a "possible" debate, sorry. It's a very sensitive situation but I can say that it was pre-planned by the elderly couple with one of them having been bedridden for the past 3 years. The investigation has concluded and the family, as hard as it is and as guilty as they feel, are trying to move on.

People will talk, and people are jerks a lot of the time. I don't know what to say, but please know that my thoughts are with you and your family.

They're happy now, and neither will have to suffer without the other. That's all that matters.

A kid from my town (now in college) was recently shot down by the cops after robbing a bank. It's really difficult trying to grieve with the press and other people actively passing judgement. No one but your aunt's parents will every truly understand what happened and why. The attention will die out soon, but if it's any help, I don't judge them for what they did (I think I found the case online), nor do I judge anyone else involved. My thoughts are with your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

It's really nobody's business but the 2 people involved. They will be together forever and will not have to suffer without each other.

I think that some of Ann Landers' best advice on what to say when someone asks a nosy question might apply here.

You just look the person in the eye and say "Now why on earth would you ask a question like that at a time like this?" That should be enough to make them realize how rude they are being.
