So I went looking for cheaper motels in the area. There's a Super 8 in Newburgh, about 40 mins out thats $62.50 a night including tax. It's on my way up so I'm gonna just stay there the night and then leave around 7am to make it on time.

Newburg is about 45 minutes away from the heart of Port Ewen. So that may be a great option. Unfortunatly it is very expensive on this side of the River for some reason, NY gotta love it.

This e-mail was forwarded to me, and I wanted to make sure everyone got it so that we can make sure the show is on time.

Hello All, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the show on Saturday. but I must apologize for a scheduling issue that has occurred. Despite my booking the hall a year ago, the church planned an event for the same afternoon and did not notify me. This means we need to be out of the hall by 3:30. This will put a time constraint on us and I do apologize to everyone, but with this short notice we will have to make it work. So we will have to change the times of the show and really stick to them. The classification will start at 8AM and the show needs to start at 9. I'm going to have to be strict on these times so we can get everything done.
I think it will be a great idea to pre-groom this week. Paperwork can be sped-up by printing our the entry forms form the MCBA website. www.mutationchinchillas.com and click on the FORMS button. Feel free to email me or any experienced breeder if you need any help with the paperwork.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. but if we work together, I think we will have a great show.
If you know of someone that is coming to the show and doesn't have email, (or is not a member and I won't have their email), please pass this info on to them. I appreciate everyone's cooperation. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again, Lisa.

I guess that means we have an hour for registration and grooming. If you're not in for classification by 8am, I don't think you'll be showing (I was late for a show once after classification started and couldn't show). So lets all try to get there around 7am and get the forms done early.

I wonder if we could get in earlier? Are they setting up the night before? I thought I was a member of this chapter and I didn't receive the email. I am going to have to call Missi and see what's going on.

Good Directions

Can anyone from the area provide really good directions from the NY State Thruway. I will be headed north on the Thruway and the directions I Googled were unclear. Two different direction sites had some conflicting info. All I need is the correct exit off the Thruway and directions from that exit to the exact location. Who's good at this? Thanks!

I am hoping they'll let us in early, maybe between 6 and 7? I don't know though.
I think I'll try to do as much grooming as I can possibly do to speed things up on Friday night.
Boo.

On the map it shows exit 19 off the NY thruway going into kingston.

Also Lisa said that she will have the hall open very eary (6ish) Saturday to help speed things up. She also will be there most of the day Friday setting things up to have it all ready for Saturday

Does Lisa need help setting up on Friday?? If she does let me know what time, I am about 15 minutes away from Port Ewen and can help.

Sure hope it can be done - I know of at least one 'BIG' breeder that are ALWAYS late in getting to the show and if they are 'closed out' there will be some big agruments over that

I think the information on the change with the show (the early start) should have a separate thread - with a heading 'change in times for NY show' or 'important new information for NY show' or something like that. Some people might not read this thread that are going to that show because it is 'old news'

It would probably be a good idea if you know of someone who is going and may not know of the time change to give them a phone call. If you cannot call them email me their name and I will call them, because if they have to be out by 3:30 then the show must be done and cleaned up by then. People coming late and then starting the show late may mean cutting the whole show short and I do not think anyone wants that. People will need to be there early to make it all work so tell everyone you know about the time change.

Railroading?

Anyone railroading from Michigan (Jags)? I'm interested in a couple of his chins but have no way of getting them to the Port Ewen show. Thanks!

Will it be a problem if we're a bit late if we're just there to watch? Just wanted to make sure they don't stop admitting when it starts or anything.
