I always check my bedroom before Chin-chin comes in....my teenager must have ate candy in here I dont eat in my room......chinny got a pink M and M I looked over and saw this huge pink ball in her mouth I freaked right out and had to pull it out she did not want to let it go!! I am worried now she got a teeni little scrape of the sugar shell her cage is clean so I can monitor poop and pee Oh I am so freaking out the kids are grounded from my room now! I wont sleep tonight at all Im so angry at myself I didnt see that candy shell....now I am going to be uber paranoia when I take her out!

if all she got was a tiny scrape off the shell of the m&m, i wouldn't worry too much. keep an eye on food intake, poop output, and energy levels (like you would normally), but don't fret excessively over it. the errant m&m could have been an honest mistake on the part of your kiddo, accidentally dropping it and not knowing, so don't come down too hard on them :))

i just wanted to also add, i wouldn't stress over that, maybe if it was a whole m&M.. he'll be fine. :)

yes she wanted it soo bad but I said no.....just an update she did ok.....poops all normal been a few days since the candy chase Im so relieved !!!

I once let my chinchilla take a bite of my chocolate chip cookie through the bar of his cage, and he grabbed the whole thing and ate it all before I could get it away from him. He was fine, so don't be worried about any little bit of anything. My chins eat everything, chips, cookies, gummy worms, pizza crust, and other tid bits, and they have never had any problems. I know they aren't supposed to eat that stuff, but, oh well. lol. they are so sneaky....
