Nipping?

So my Chin (Chester) tends to gnaw on his cage or get really excited to be let out. He'll jump by the opening and get happy, even if I'm not going to let him out. But one thing I've noticed is that if I try to touch his paws our put my finger by him he'll bite me. Not anything to cry about, but enough to make me concerned. I don't want him to get bad habits. Any advice?:hmm:

Is he nipping when you try to pet him through the bars? If so, do you give him treats through the bars? Otherwise he might just be trying to train you to let him out when he wants.

If you ignore the nipping, he will eventually stop doing it because it is not getting him his way.
