I haven't thought of a name for him yet - the SO and I are still trying to come up with one we both like.

I'll work on getting other better pictures later, but he was brand new to me yesterday, and still a bit shy.

This is the cage he came in - so tiny! I should have known the cage would be small... good thing I planned on making one myself anyway!

Here's the cage I made him - what I love about it is that I can modify this at anytime. I'm thinking I might make a second level, and have hedgie safe ramps to it.

Being shy...

What are you looking at?

And here he is, curled up in a towel next to me - we hand bonding time watching TV last night. He was pretty tuckered out though - he had a big day with lots of change yesterday.

Although when I put him to bed last night and I was reading, I heard him going NUTS on his wheel! So, I went and peeked at him and he stopped dead, looking like a little kid caught doing something wrong, lol. I watched him a bit longer and he started running again. I'm going to put vaseline on the wheel (the part that spins, not where he runs) so hopefully it will be a bit quieter. He might get a flying saucer wheel here later on.

He also really needs a bath - I don't think he EVER got one in his old him. His quills have stuff all over them in places - I'm guessing from annointing. He also has a little stink to him - I'm guessing from them not changing the bedding often enough, as he smells like urine, not hedgie! So, tonight we'll get him all cleaned up.

He is cute. Congratulations.

I suggest you put a lid on the C&C because they are very easy to climb and some hedgehogs love to escape.

Oh, and I know the pictures aren't the greatest, but if anyone can tell me his color? I'm guessing he's a standard salt-and-pepper.

Oh, okay. I was going to ask about that - what should I use for a lid, that works well but is easy to take off to clean the cage and take him out?

And thanks!

he is adorable! congrats! let us know when he gets a name! =]
as for color, im no expert but salt n pepper is not standed at all.
