Meet Nyx!

Meet our newest. We're calling her Nyx (the Greek goddess of night), and she's actually a rescue, about eight months old. Her previous owner was a girl who I think got overwhelmed by her needs. She's a sweetheart and is settling in nicely.

How long do most of you typically quarantine a new chinchilla? And am I seeing this right, does she look like a black velvet, or just a very dark standard? The family she came from didn't seem to know very much about her. I can only imagine what kinds of snacks she's used to.
