Sorry I haven't responded in awhile. The pig does keep moving around, so you guys are probably right. He's at the very least interacting with it by dragging it around. I got him some new chew toys yesterday to see how he likes those. I don't think he's been as active lately, so that does worry me a little bit. The reason I say that is because I haven't heard him on the wheel recently. It's the flying saucer kind and it can rattle the whole cage when it's in motion so it's pretty obvious when it's in use. He has moved the new chew toys around though and he has been eating. I asked my husband if we could leave a radio on for him, but he said that would be silly.

I wouldn't say it would be silly to keep the radio on, but if he has not been used to it, I don't think it would make a difference.

Do I know? No, that's why I had asked before if anyone had any ideas on why she could have died. No one replied though, but maybe no one really knows. I was going to take her body to a vet to be examined, but I couldn't find anyone that knew much about chinchillas. I stated before that the vet I used to take them to is gone. It's really weird, but I thought maybe it was the bad economy. Anyway, they were the only vet in town that specialized in small animals and exotics. My regular vet (the one the dog goes to) wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pool. I guess they don't want to mess with something they don't know anything about in fear of being sued or something.
