I was going to suggest Shelby too. :) She's adorable, and we're going to want more pictures as the days go by to play "guess that mix". I can see some hound in there, but the pibble is a good guess too. Rather than Basset, though, I was thinking one of the larger hounds like maybe Fox Hound or Harrier. In any case, prepare for LOTS of energy. :)

My daughter has a thing for naming animals after cars, and car parts, and said Holley after the carburetor. She also has plans to name her first born daughter Chevelle!!

Stacie! Shelby is such a cutie!! How lucky is she to have found you!! :D

My dad would sooooo do something like this. He has a Chevelle and he calls it the She-velle.. LOL!

She looks like she has some Jack Russell or rat terrier in her maybe mixed with some larger breed dog that's hard to pinpoint.

Shelby is a great name, and she is so adorable! My vet does DNA testing. Well, he sends it off, but still I think it would be neat to see what comes back. It isn't that expensive really.

I still say from volunteering at a shelter I def see pit not basset in her. Pits are a stocky breed often times. Bassets are just short legged and long. Her body is much more proportionate.

And the belly picture on facebook makes me want to kiss her belly. Sooo stinking cute she is. I wouldn't be surprised if she had cocker spaniel in her as that is another breed I have seen a lot of cherry eye in. She's a pitter spaniel hehe.

She's adorable and I love the name! It's disgusting how people can abandon animals like theyre garbage..especially in that hot weather! I'm glad she has a new home now :))

I dunno about Jack Russell..she's about the size of a full grown Jack now as a puppy! We'll just have to wait and see...

I did notice that she has very webbed toes, so she has some sort of swimming genes in her!

Ok so now we have to do Chinnie AND Puppy playtime on Sunday! What kinds of toys do you let her have? Can I bring her a squeaker toy?

She's excited, Britt! She loves squeaker toys- her squeaker cow is her favorite. Of course you can bring her one! She hasn't destroyed anything yet...

I was totally going to suggest Shelby! I'm glad she has a proper name and a good home. :) Can't wait to see more updates on her.

Several people have asked me how Shelby is doing so here is an update :))

Shelby is up to 20 lbs and is estimated to be around 16 weeks now. She has lost all of her front puppy teeth and I'm pretty sure she just lost her last premolar! Several people swear she has basset hound in her. I think she is growing length wise more than she is height wise!

She has had 2 rounds of her puppy vaccines, dewormers, etc. She is going to have her cherry eye correct the same time she gets her spay, which should be in about a month. Until then I have eye drops for her that she gets twice daily. She has experienced riding on the 4-wheeler which she loves! She's not so sure about pools yet, but definitely likes mud puddles! She is also enrolled in a puppy training class at Petsmart along with a shepard puppy named Sadie.

She still has a bit of separation anxiety. She only likes her kennel when the door is off. I left the door on while training, and she dug so hard she actually ended up cutting her paw. So, she stays in the bathroom when we're away. She will sleep in the kennel as long as the door is off. She has been doing good about not going potty while I'm not home, and she hasn't had anymore accidents in the house while I'm home. In fact, she's trained to do this when she has to go potty now:

Then a sleepy pic. :))

what adorable pics, Stacie! She sounds like she has fit in wonderfully! The seperation anxiety may never go away, but it may continue to lessen.
