Is my new hedgehog pregnant?

I got my female hedgehog from a pet store on Dec 16th. She is 4-6mos old according to the pet store, and was housed with a male. She was friendly an curious when she first came home, but she has become more and more shy. She sleeps more, and has gotten rather thick around the middle (it seems all of a sudden). She will not let me touch her tummy (she used to) and I don't see any teats. My gut says she is, but I'd feel a little more confident about this whole surprise if some experts weighed in.

I have been reading about how to treat a pregnant hedgehog, any other crucial tips I need to know?

Should I stop picking her up? how long should I leave her alone?

Get her cage prepared for babies and assume she is pregnant. You can still handle her, but be very careful touching her tummy area. The teats enlarge when they are near to delivery.

What type of cage and bedding are you using?
