At least since you live in a swamp, you've got plenty of mud for her to stand in. Custus used to love standing in the cool mud when he foundered. It gave him so much relief.

Is this a friend of yours? I mean a friend, friend? Or an acquaintance friend? If it's an acquaintance friend, I'd report her for neglect. Dumb***.

No mud, we're in a drought again. She has definitely road foundered, very hot and tender.

One of those friends that the only way I'm going to get out of this mess is to move to England. ~sigh.

Poor horse.... and I'll reserve comment on her owner. You know what they say, no hoof no horse.

I've babysat exactly 2 horses for 'friends' and neither one went well. I am impressed with your farrier abilities though.

Thanks. :)) I'm rather passionate about it and have been offered a 'route' from the local farriers. I just can't deal with the horse owners.

I've sat another and had a very good experience. This is one of those friends you know is going to go bad, but you can't say no because at this point they're like your extremely dysfunctional family.

Except my family doesn't pull this type of ****, you'd get kicked out if you did. :p Hence I find them so they can fill the dysfunctional need?

Example; We're having a party tomorrow at my house for 20 or so friends. It's supposed to rain - we're BBQ'ing. I say we're BBQ'ing in the barn as it's steel, got a 15' roof and mostly empty, can hold everyone and all condiments... etc. I WILL NOT BBQ IN THERE!! IT'S UNSAFE-- WRONG!--JUST NO!! storms friend's hubby in a huff, while stomping off. Before he got all the way out I said, "that's fine, I'll do it". He was pissed. I love to BBQ and cook good food, he burns or destroys a good portion of what he cooks but he is a "man" and throws a tantrum if he can't BBQ. How petty is that?

.......Wait for it... ........... I don't have a BBQ and we are using theirs.

You see how this goes?

And y'all wonder why I have a chocolate addiction. :neener:

Speaking of chocolate... Had a Reverse Extra Dark **** Ebony Dipped White Chocolate female(!) born today. :heart3: Just for you Peg.

I knew before I even got to the end that was a special gift for me. She's gorgeous, but I hate you anyway. :)

Darn! I don't even know where to begin on your story. But you need to take some time and be kind to yourself. Do something each day that is good Zen. Stress is hard on the body and spirit. It is also an immunity killer. Comming in here to "vent" is a good thing. We women understand a good vent. I've had a devil of a week too and couldn't even begin to put text it.
I really want to thank you for looking after the animals. I used to work on my friends Throughbred race horse farm part time and your hoof pictures of the mare made me wiggle. Crap that has to hurt. Girl I don't even know what to say. With all the problems your having with the house, your a saint to put so much love into the horses. I hope she's picking up the blacksmith bill. Nothing cheap there. I can only tell you that I would have the blacksmith and a vet come out on my dime and drag your friends butt over and have a "come to jesus" meeting regarding the mares feet. ( sighs big )
Big hugs to you and make sure you take time for some quality ZEN time. :hugs:
Alex

I do a lot of Zen, that's why I walk so much. The more stress, the more walk.

I've had a devil of a week too and couldn't even begin to put text it.

Hope that picks up, yuck!

We did have the party today. Others noticed the horse (who is doing better) and she showed up with a boot and the appropriate drugs. She already had one boot, so a second is considerably more useful in this situation.

I think she has finally gotten that I want the horse moved asap. We'll see how much longer that is.

I finally(!) got a contractor to show up after seven weeks of calling. He was eight hours late - but as one partygoer exclaimed; "My god, you got one to come out! I've been after one for over a year.".

So if you have a good work ethic (read: show up on time) and want to make some money come be a contractor in LA. I'll hire you. My friends will hire you and their friends will hire you. We're waiting...

So, the bathroom that is a hole will maybe be started tomorrow. He did say tomorrow, though it is a Sunday on a long weekend. At this point I'm suspicious of contractors, so we'll see how this goes.

Well thats is an improvement to your story! Hope everything follows through for you. I finished off with a good weekend and holiday. However upon arriving home last night my 10 yr old fell in the garage and has a splint on her arm. Yes it was a hospital visit. It was raining and she had flip flops on. We came in through the garage and the cement is floated smooth. And her feet went out from underneath her. Xray shows her tail bone wasn't broken and her arm may or may not have a fracture. Dr follow up at the bone doc. I can only chuckle and tell you, "isn't is difficult being respondsible?"
