Wow Tab why would you even want to keep that poor girl in breeding? You said she hadn't produced since--I don't blame her! It's a good thing too, if she has trouble breathing and finding her food I doubt she would be able to live through labor and eat enough to sustain her kits while in fetus form.

that poor baby,i hope i never experience something like that

If you intend to breed...this happens. Wounds to the face and head and the back are very common. The back and neck injuries occur while the chins are trying for the face. You WILL experience this if you breed.

She actually had a kit a few months after the initial attack so she CAN have babies and deliver them safely even with the deformity. She was in breeding for about a year and a half here but mostly she just thought the other chins made awesome pillows.:neener: She's retired now though and living it out happily with some other ladies. She's content being THE pillow. Her health from the injuries took a bad turn this year too which is another reason I retired her. She went an entire year without infections in either eye but this year it's started up again for some reason.

Kits can do that kind of damage to each other, believe it or not. I had a litter of quads that fought. This was my first litter and a real eye opener to me. The two smallest kits were attacked by their brothers. One lost an ear and the other had the entire side of his face chewed up. It's incredible just how brutal the little ones can be.

Well with all being said I'm glad you were able to catch the fight early and neither chin sustained injuries.

I have to agree with Tunes. You're lucky all you came home to was pulled fur. I'd love to find that instead of a dead chin or a chin about to die from the wounds and just the whole trauma of the situation.

GRAPHIC! Parental supervision is advised. It's not gruesome or bloody but it's not pretty. This is a female who was in breeding and her male ripped into her face. her face healed like this and now she can barely see and has trouble breathing or even finding her food. The fight occured about four years ago and has not produced since.

I lost a beautiful ebony girl just about a month ago due to her mate suddenly deciding to beat her up with no warning. It is heartbreaking and a reality of breeding!
