OH! Ok!! Thanks! I'll give that a shot then! I'll look around and see what I can find. Really do appreciate the help. Any little bit.

Fresh pineapple juice (not canned) is a miracle worker with a blockage. I recently rescued a chin that had a major blockage and the owner told me she had not eaten for days. It took me three days of contantly working on her, but she finally started to poop.

She would only eat so much CC and with no poops, I did not want to keep adding more to her gut. Lots and Lots of fluids. I gave her Simethicone, Reglan, and Fresh Pineapple juice along with sub-Q fluids. I would massage her tummy and tried to get her to move around on her own to get things moving.

She made a full recovery and is doing great.

I know in this case your chin is not moving, but put him in a larger area and sit on the floor with him and see if he will walk around on his own.

Yes, today I have given up on the CC for awhile. Reason being, I can hardly get it down his throat and most of it just ends up sitting in his cheek *sigh*...then I have to dig it out.

He peed for me at 3:30am and he was starting to try and move around more, but he's now back to where he was.

I just made up a water solution with papain, b-complex, and acidophilus in it. I will go to walmart today and pick up fresh pineapple juice as well.

Last night we would sit on the floor and I would really encourage his movement, but like I said...today he stopped again.

At least he's still with me.

ETA: I just massaged in between feeding and heard gurgling for the first time. I'm thinking that's a good sign!

Sorry I didn't update sooner. Unfortunately Finnley could no longer fight this hard battle. He passed about 30 minutes after I posted yesterday. I'm keeping a close eye on his Dad, who seems nothing but mad at me. I made him a fleece buddy, but he just keeps throwing it on the bottom of the cage, along with the blanket that Finn used to sleep on.

Thank you =(

Now what I'm wondering is, do I let him live alone or do I neuter him and put him with my two females? I'm not looking for anyone to tell me what to do...it is just a thought I'm having and would appreciate opinions on. Of course I'll be talking with my vet first - probably on Tuesday when I go into work.

I'm sorry for your loss :(

As for your other boy, I'd be inclined to give him a bit before trying to decide what to do with him regarding friends. He just lost a cagemate and I wouldn't stress him out by doing anything right now.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I was so hoping to log in today and see good news. :(

I'm very sorry for your loss.

As far as putting him with your two females, you might want to wait a bit and see how he does on his own. Now that his cagemate is gone, he may settle down more. Give him a little time to grieve, make sure he's eating and drinking as he should, etc., before making huge changes in his life like castrating or a new cagemate. Try and spend some extra time with him if you can and grieve together.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on doing anything just yet. I was thinking more along the lines of a month from now. And thanks everyone...its been a hard day =(

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I agree. Give him some time to grieve and you can grieve along with him.

When Mr. Whiskers' first cagemate, Baby, died, both he and I took it very hard. Since Baby died in my arms, I was able to let Mr. Whiskers sniff his little body and realize that something was wrong/had changed. I know that I, personally, have a strong tendency to anthropomorphize my animals, and so I took the time to explain to Whiskers what had happened and why Baby was not with us anymore. I believe that he understood.

It took about a month of grieving for both us to be able to realize that another buddy was what we both needed, and so The Snuggler came into our lives. I think that might be what Finnley's cagemate needs, as well. Time and love can work wonders. We're sending you our love and whisker kisses.

Lynn, thanks for that. I didn't let Boo sniff Finn, but Boo DID smell it on my hands and pushed me away. Getting another male for him is very debatable right now for us. I do plan on talking to my vet to see if she's experienced with neutering bunnies...I don't know if she's done Chins, but I know she sees quite a few bunnies. If she is, I think I may do that in the future and put him with my females.
