could work never had an older chin for the age of 3 shes fun whoever gave her up was dumb cause she love scritches for hours and she doesnt like Tyler Perry as much as shadow does(Whenever its on and I try to change it Shadow Cacks)

Hopefully whom ever had her had a legit reason, and she wasn't just a cast off or throw away animal. It is very sad when people get bored and just move on with out any concern on the animals part. At least she has a new home, and has a buddy to keep her happy!

the lady said she had her for a while and was happy to see she was leaving with someone who cared funny part was my mom fell in love with her before shadow did
BTW I think her little ears are burning shes staring at me

Since Shadow is an Ebony and your new one is a standard gray how about Dawn, Dusk or Aurora (which means Dawn)? Both dark but light enough for shadows to still appear.

I'm glad you were able to give the girl a new, better home. Some people really shouldn't have pets, especially if they're just going to abandon them when they get bored of them. I find that really inconsiderate for the animal.

You're quarantining your new chin, yes?

When you got where? The new chin should be being quarantined completely separate to your other chin(s) - in a separate room for at least 30 days (I quarantine for longer but I know the norm on this forum is 30 days).

You said in your first post that your new chin & Shadow cuddle & hug - I am confused. If your chin has met this new girl already then you are not quarantining properly & you have put both chins at risk of illness.

Do chinchillas get sick if they just meet once and then quarantine is done right after that? because I think that if it was like that, then chins would tend to get sick every time they go to shows
I do not think you understand the concepts of quarantine or cross contamination.

A chin which comes into contact with another chin is at risk, yes - if one chin has a contagious illness then it can be passed on to the other chinchilla. The main point of quarantine is to stop any illness from being transferred from one animal to another - by means of physical contact or secondary transfer (i.e. from humans or other animals if basic hygiene is not carried out).

The ethics of showing is such that exhibitors are trusted to only bring chins which are healthy.

Quarantine is not only for illness, its for observation and acclimation of the chinchilla in a new environment.

As was evidenced by the equine herpesvirus-1 outbreak scare this past summer, there is often no way of knowing that your animal, whether cat, dog, horse or chinchilla is ill or contagious until sometimes several days after a show. Not saying that animals shouldn't be quarantined, just saying that there is just as much of a risk taking our animals to a show, if not more so, because they come into contact with far more animals and we have less control over the situation. Judges move from one animal to another, one cage to another, without first sanitizing their hands. In regards to the equine herpesvirus-1, that was a virus that is highly contagious, can be transmitted by contact from one animal to another, contaminated equipment and even for a time through the air.

:( Sadly I know of at least a couple of breeders who lost significant numbers from their herds through lack of proper quarantine - contagious illness can take time to show or it can kill rapidly. I know of one breeder who lost over 1/2 her herd.
Pretty sobering thought really.
