I've been using oatmeal as taming treats and now the little buggers run to the front of the cage when you open the door and start going over your fingers. If you have oatmeal they grab your hand with their little paws and wedge every last piece out before the other one can get it. My fingers got all pinched up this morning. At least they stop as soon as they realize they have my finger so it's just a pinch and then they try again for a piece of oatmeal. If I put it in the palm of my hand I have to push my hand toward them as they come at me or they get my fingers before finding the oatmeal pile.

They are sitting side by side on their house right now waiting for me to get up and possibly give them more oatmeal. At least they are getting quite tame.

Might want to find another treat to supplement. Too much oatmeal (like any treat) can upset the digestive system, not to mention they'll fill up on treats instead of pellets and hay given the chance! Silly chins. While oatmeal is a lot better than raisins or dried fruit, I like to mix it up and give rosehips, different kinds of hay, and different kinds of safe wood/sticks. Keeps them coming back for more with less of a risk ;)

I'm waiting on an order of apple twigs and I don't see how oatmeal would upset their stomach when half their pellet is grains namely oats and wheat followed by basically hay. So oatmeal and hay is pretty much a pellet and they love their hay. You are just missing the trace minerals. A lot of rabbit people have gone to feeding oats or wheat, hay, and horse or goat minerals because the rabbits fill up faster and live healthier longer lives on the straight grains than with all the filler in pellets. It takes half as much rolled oats and hay to feed my rabbits as it does pellets by weight.
