So i am getting a chin fro the first time in about a month (I CAN'T wait!!!) But i cant decide which cage to get... so i narrowed it to 3... If you could tell me which one you think would be better, or which one not to use that would be great.

I like this one but it is a bit over my price limit:

I think this is a good alternative for the one above and its in my price zone:

Or this one:

Thanks
Amanda

For that price you might as well just spend a little extra and get a Ferret Nation. I would only reccommend one of those cages if you were getting them off of craigs list for $50.

If you haven't already found the thread, there's one here entitled, "Ferret Nation Club" where people post pictures of their cage setups. Also if you search you'll find a lot of people inquiring about various cages.

I myself have a Ferret Nation cage, and it's pretty awesome, whether you have one chin or two. It's a very durable cage, roomy, and it's aesthetically pleasing, :D

Those cages look like they would be awesome, but they are not. You would have to lift that behemoth of a cage in and out of the bottom every time you wanted to clean out the pan and it would be a pain in the butt. You would most likely also end up replacing all of the shelves with wood, and the ramps would be thrown away because chins don't use them and are pointless.

I agree, I wold go with a Ferret Nation with a slide out pan. Much easier to clean, you can just add shelves anywhere you want, and you can add onto the cage and make it bigger when you have saved up more money.

I also vote for the Ferret Nation. Check craigslist :)) I found my FN 141 for $60 and I've seen plenty of FN 142's for under $150 in great condition.

all that plastic is a bad idea and replacing it with wood is hard when the cage doors are so small. Not to mention that wood is heavier than plastic so those tall cages may not deal well with the extra weight.

And many chins figure out ways to open the door on those cages and they get out. I spent a lot of time and efert making my first cage "chin safe" and freindly - just to have Mouse get out daily - so I ended up getting a FN in the end. safe yoursekf the time, money and effert and get the best cage you can to start with.

My cages are all from Quality Cage Company. I think their cages are awesome. Their largest cage is the Chinchilla Mansion. I have one of those and some of the Chinchilla Condos. They come with a metal slide out tray and wooden shelves unlike the Ferret Nation which comes with plastic shelves and a plastic tray that need to be replaced. QC cages are what works best for me.
