National Grid called my house (somehow we have one land line phone still working on a battery...) and said, via one of those automated messages, it might be a few days until we get power back. Our basement has a small layer of water on it, but nothing too bad, we do live on a hill.
I may bring Chloe over to the house I'm dogsitting at for the day tomorrow. The owners are coming back tomorrow night so for the rest of the week, I'll have to play it by ear. I passed by a motel on my way home to stop in and see how everyone was (took me over an HOUR to go 5 miles away) and it was completely packed. And it was super creepy driving into towns that are pitch black, and a lot of the roads were closed.
One car that is underneath a tree is still there with the tree on it. I thought campus facilities removed it but apparently not all of it. I would not like to be the person who parked there.
All in all, not too bad but kind of annoying. I hate to admit it, but I really wouldn't have minded this storm if I didn't have a chinchilla or any other animal that needed temperature regulation. Ah well, such is life.
I hope everyone is doing good and I'm glad so many of you have power. On the bright side, if you don't have or lose power: go outside and look up; stars show up much better without city/town lights!!
