Thought I would open up a thread to keep in touch. I do realize many of you along the coastal lines and miles inland will have no power after a while. Due to downed power lines and sub stations tripping offline for safety. A friend of my father in law has lost power in Chesapeak Va as I am typing.
I'm in Richmond and its about 11 am Saturday. Breezy and light rain. Small gusts. 36 mph thus far.
I spent all week getting ready little by little. Having been through a Cat3 I know darned well what I would need. My chinchillas have been the biggest worry thus far. I bought a case of bottled water and poured the top 1/4 off and froze a bunch of them. With no power and it being very hot and humid it is the best I can do without power. I did gas up both cars and if a chin appears to show signs of heat stress I will load them in the car and turn the air on and do what I can. Glad I have a chin carrier.
May our members be blessed with safety until we hear from all of you in the "zone".
