How to store wood?

How do you guys store wooden toys and sticks for your chinchilla? I heard that keeping wood in closed containers will cause them to mold.

Yes it will. Keep them in a open paper bag for air flow.

Open cardboard box works, I let it air dry on a table for at least a few days -a week before storage.

I have mine in an open cardboard box, on the floor. The boys have recently discovered how to climb in it and steal sticks. There are now sticks all over my house. I buy about 3-4 pounds of sticks at a time and have never had any go moldy on me.

Alot depends on if they are dried well, I also keep mine in cardboard boxes.

Mesh laundry bags work well for air flow!

I just leave them in the boxes they get shipped in with the top open.

I keep mine in one of those plastic stackable bins. I just punched some holes in the drawers for airflow, even though they are not exactly airtight in the first place, lol.
