Neither of our boys are huge fans, but we do it every few months or so (Koko needed it a little more often after he recovered from his surgery - lots of matted fur). I swear I could make a scarf out of all the fur I get out sometimes...

Its crossed my mind that i showld comb them everyonce in a while but I just never did it untill I got Nyx. The "breeder" I got her from hadn't been home in ten days (I guess his son had been feeding them) so she hadn't bathed and the cages hadn't been cleaned and she was a mess. What could I do? I hadn't planned on getting her THAT day but I couldn't leave her there. So she came home, bathed for like an hour straight, and then i combed the matts out of her. She wasn't a fan at first and then either she gave up because I'm more stuborn then she is or she just started liking it. Who knows?

So I don't comb unless matting occurs.

Nancy- The picture of Mango is PRICELESS!!! So cute!

Thanks sooo much!! None of my boys were too fond of it at first---but, definately-persistance pays off!

I am a breeder. I actually have some that I comb about once a month, and some that I almost never comb. Some of my chins just get too stressed and angry when I comb them, and I end up with a messier chin than I started with. Others don't seem to mind too much. They actually seem to feel better after losing the dead loose fur, and it helps me, since I have bad allergies.
