Hi everyone. I'm Mel. I have 2 cats, 2 wee little frogs, and an adorable chin. I am currently thinking about expanding my menagerie and getting a hedgehog but am not sure how my cats and chin will react to it. Any thoughts?

They shouldn't react to it very much really. The chin and the hedgie will have to be in completely different parts of the house due to temperature concerns. The cats shouldn't get near either the chin or the hedgie due to diseases they can pass and the predator/prey issue. Lots of people own all 3 with no problems.

Hi Mel and welcome! My cats don't react to my birds, gerbils, or chinnie...I even had a hamster escape 3 times in the past and they just sat there and watched him...they actually helped me find him, lol. I guess I'm lucky to have lazy cats. As said, you need to keep the cats away from your chin and hedgie, but I don't see any problems with having all of them coexisting in the same house.
