So I'm new to this whole forum thing and pretty new to Chinchillas too.
A few months ago (after lots of research) adopted a unwanted 7 year old male Chinchilla by the name of Charlie off of my mums work colleagues son. I went to see him and instantly fell in love with him and felt sorry for him as he hadn't been out of his small cage since Christmas, he seemed healthy and they assured me they had no problems or worries about him. Unfortunately, a few days after getting him i noticed he seemed unhappy, at first i thought it was his breathing and took him straight to our vets. a couple days later he stopped eating and i took him back to the vets where they agreed to take x-rays and check his teeth. We hoped for the best news possible, that it was a fixable problem, but it was malocclusion, the worst teeth the vet had seen. I of course was devastated as i had already fallen for the little guy, as did anyone else who met him. I have been nursing him and caring for him and getting his weight back on and for the meantime he is now doing brilliantly, he has organic carrot and potato baby food and can manage some hard feed (though not enough to keep his weight on without the baby food) and he loves his cuddles and plays i spoil him far too much with attention but he deserves it.
A couple of weeks ago i was given two 3 month old baby chins
they are Loki and Spyro. Off of my dads bosses wife who used to breed. They are very naughty compared to Charlie but they are adorable. My dad made an amazing two story cage for them, Charlie currently moved into the top half as it is huge!
I also have 3 rabbits, 1 gerbil, 1 hamster, 2 horses, 2 chickens and fish love my animals
