Hey Froggy!

I have been missing my big boy, Elvis (my late, beloved Pacman frog), quite a bit ..and just casually keeping my eyes peeled for a new "big kid" frogger. Well, yesterday was the day.. and I brought home this little dude (hoping for a dude, anway.. they get substantially larger than the females).

"Hold on.. I'm gonna eat you, too!"

He's eating everything I offer.. B. dubia roaches (in pic), baby mealworms, silkworms, and so on. He is well on his way to being an absolute eating machine! **giggle**


I haven't named him yet, but I'd like to keep it on the theme of "pyxie dust" ..since he's a Pyxie Frog. Something to do with fae or fairies, elves, imps.. along those lines. Open to suggestions...

He's awesome! I am so jealous... I've been missing having a frog myself also. As for a name... How about Oberon, the King of the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream?

Hahaha.. thanks everyone! I like that name, too! (I used to have a very funny lookin' little bantam rooster.. he was a "sizzle", for those chicken breed savvy folks ...and his name was Oberon. His woman.. who later turned into his "brother" ..haha ..was named, Titania... oops!)

So, the little dude's name shall be Oberon! :thumbsup:

The little dude ate like 30 brand new mealworms from my own culture, today. They were really tiny ..and he was so darn cute hopping from side to side to get 'em. When I stopped dropping them near him, he just looked at me like.. "hey.. I want more! More food, please.. more? come on... "

Now, he's soaking his tushy again.. haha!

Oh, I love frogs. I've never had a pet frog, but we sure have a lot of tree frogs in our yard and I've actually taught my boys how to be gentle with them!

Fatty Fatt Fat, Oberon ..ate about 30 brand spanking, freshly hatched mealworms day before yesterday ..skipped dinner yesterday cuz Mah didn't see any poo ..and had a juicy night crawler just a few minutes ago ..cuz Mah did finally see a poo!

Btw, the mealworms are about as long as this - I - is tall, so it wasn't really a lot, considering... LOL

I have a Puck! in my collection already ..only she's a leucistic TX Ratsnake. The name fit her so well the first time I laid eyes on her ..it stuck.

Too cute, I had a collection of frogs that just seemed to show up at my Ex's work, Tree frogs, and beautiful Asian frog(dont remember its scientific name)and a few others he works with landscaping and I even have had tiny baby reptiles that would be hiding in the foliage and scare the beejeebers out of the yard workers, Heeeheeeehaaaaahaaaa
Everytime the phone would ring I would have a chorus of frogs singing away.
Awww I miss my froggies.
