Hey guy, my wife and I adopted this chinchilla Cheech about 5 months ago, he's a older boy 5-6 years old not sure he is caged by himself. His cage sits lowest on the ground. This is the first summer we had him and he is out oldest chin. So we're not sure how they shed at this age. He is losing hair in his hindquarters and around the bottom of his tail, skin is not pink nor is it scabby. His eyes are fine, he loves to eat his hay and pellets he's a big boy. Could this just be normal with age? Could it be some sort of stress? This just started happening recently.
