Grocery store etiquette

Here's a good example of why checks are good

My dad was at the commissary the other day without my mom. My dad is like me...jabber, jabber, jabber.

Part of what he bought was a 6-pak of Dial soap. He used his ATM card. Didn't look, etc. obviously.

He was charged $102.80 instead of $10.28, even though the gal scanned the soap. Had he written a check or charged it, he would have noticed I assume.

Anyway, mom went back today for her refund.

can I add old folks that don't know how to drive to the complaint list? I got stuck behind a lady at a stop light today. She refused to pull up to the line so the stop light never tripped to let our turning lane go. We sat there through 4 cycles of the stop light with all us trying to tell the old bat to PULL FORWARD!! She finally tries to turn her boast of a car around to turn into a parking lot and ends up blocking traffic and causing a mess ugh some days.......

i think there are 2 lessons here:

1: never go shopping when there are "hostile organs" involved.

2: shop online!!!! i get my groceries delivered. the small fee is well worth the aggrevation at the food store!!!

I LOVE grocery shopping and I've thought about shopping for others as a part time second job. Everyone I work with knows if they have surgery or whatever, they can always ask me to do their grocery shopping for them. I'd LOVE to get paid to grocery shop. I also like doing dishes by hand, too.

Laurie I just had the same thing happen to me at Kohl's last night! I was at the register waiting for the girl to finish ringing so I could swipe my card. Then this white trash lady and her mom and 7 kids came up behind me and actually hit me with their cart and skinned the back of my feet because I was wearing capris and flats. I glared at her and she just glared back at me like I was doing something wrong! Uggghh I could have hauled off and slugged her!
