OMG the cage is not cheap but it looks awesome!! We are going to get our little girl on Saturday so I am getting everything ready. Any Ferret Nation owners have any extra tips about the cage for me? It looks so fabulous. Love that the cages stack so it saves on floor space and the double doors are awesome. I do not have it put together yet but it all snaps, no tools. I assume it is sturdy but wondering if I should do some twist ties since there are no screws? Probably not necessary as it looks like such nice quality. Super excited over here..lol..:tease::thumbsup:

I have the old style, but I cannot imagine ever needing to zip tie these cages. There are plenty of chin people using the 180 series already and a chin is going to be far more bouncy than a hedgehog.

Are you planning to only use one level or are you going to try to add the shelf? I don't bother with the shelves, trying to enclose them to prevent falls was more work than it was worth. Some hedgehogs won't even use ramps so it wasn't worth the effort.

I have 2, 3 sections are used by hedgehogs, the last I have bedding, toys, scale, first aid kit, etc in. Its great for keeping the hedgehog stuff tidy. Of course should a 4th come along, I'll have to rethink where all that stuff will go!

Wow, I won't need zip ties for sure but I am having some trouble putting the side pieces in. I think the metal squares at the bottom that the side panels fit inside are put on a bit crooked. Have to wait for hubby to get home to deal with it. I think it might need a bit of prying and pounding to get it in order. The cage is HUGE. I knew it was not a small cage but did not realize how big it is. I probably will not bother with the ramps since like you said, who knows if the hedgie will want to climb and I do not want to worry about a climbing hedgie. Maybe later on once we get to know the hedgie we can revisit that but for now I am just going to figure out one level...lol. The cage is super quality, wow! Love it!! Now I have to find a spot for it in the house..lol. Thanks for your help!! :bliss: I am in full nesting mode..haha

There is plenty of floor space without the shelf, it is a very nice cage. There are a number of us who use them and yes they are expensive, but they are so easy to clean, and provide a nice amount of space. Plus they are easy to move around, just make sure the casters are unlocked before moving.

At first I was in sticker shock but after seeing the other cages it seems like all you can buy is crappy rickety flimsy cheaply made cages (at least in my area) or this fabulous top of the line one, so we went with this one. When I saw the quality I was beyond impressed. Super heavy duty and nicely constructed. I must say it is worth every penny. And I love how it does not take up too much floor space since one cage is on top of the other. And the way the doors open is awesome!! Nice and roomy and it does look easy to clean. Can't wait to put my little girl in there!!
