I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this show yet...

I am obsessed with Glee, the cast is amazing, with acting ability, and especially singing ability.

Has anybody seen Glee yet? or am I the only one obsessed?

Nope, I watch it every week faithfully. This is one of my new favorites for the year!

We love this show too! Andrew and I make sure to watch it together. It's so funny and the music is great. I find myself humming the tunes from it throughout the day lol. And that "Single Ladies" episode had us dying laughing! I cannot wait to see what comes next. Just when I think things can't get even more twisted, they do!

Therese - I laughed until I cried when the football team did single ladies! My kids were screaming too.

I loved when the dad said "I wish your mom could have been here....only....alive." ROFL

Love, love, love, love LOVE IIIIIITT! I was alarmingly like Rachel when I was in Show Choir, though I at least had the cojones to admit that, while I was darn good, other people needed the chance to get better, and I was glad to coach/help when asked. But her dedication to singing/performing as her "only shot" rings startlingly true with me, and on more than one occasion my directors and I went rounds about things. It's embarrassingly funny to see that on screen and think, "I wonder if that's how Mr. D. thought about me?"

Does anyone else want to put the wife and sister-in-law in straight jackets and make them share a padded cell until they drive each other as nuts as they must drive every other poor sap in their lives? They remind me of that pack of toy dogs Paris Hilton has in her mansion! I'd be so tempted to kick them (the sisters, not the dogs; the dogs haven't had a chance to learn any better).

Oh, and Kristen Chenowith's appearance this week? Great music, but... what show choir or glee club in their right minds would do a solo-only, country-western song? The second number this week was just great, and they've done a good job showcasing each kid's talents as the episodes have come, but I saw Western wear and thought I'd accidentally changed the channel.

I just caught up on all the episodes so far on Hulu. I tried to resist watching it when I heard someone call it "the next Friday Night Lights" but I like Jane Lynch so I caved, and am glad I did. It's definitely a different show than what's been out there for a while.

I tried holding out for as long as possible. I've failed and now have an addiction to Glee. Last nights episode was amazing. I've been listening to it all day while at work. Yes I have issues.

Ok so *spoiler* for anyone who is just starting to watch but am I the only one who totally knew Rachel Barry's mom would be Idina Menzels character? From the first episode when she said she had gay dads I swear I thought "if/when she finds her mom it should be Idina". They looked too similar. It had to be. :)

I thought the same thing too. I've had their duet on replay for the last hour. :)

I love it but Phil doesn't! He always whines when I watch it so I just turn it so I don't have to hear him. I will have to start telling him to suck it up.

I'm beating myself up for not making the connection. I commented on how similar they look, but never thought of the mom thing. That said, I LOVED this week's episode. It was definitely one of the best in a long time. Idina Menzel, Les Mis, Aerosmith, Joss Whedon and...

I.

Love.

NPH.

Edit: worried about next week's episode, though. I mean I love me the Gaga, but the last artist-centered episode (Madonna) was one of their worst. The show works better when the music is matched to the plot, not the plot matched to the music.

I totally agree about the Madonna thing! I hated that episode. I did like the songs and had fun singing along but story line wise it totally sucked. It seemed so forced.

Almost started tearing up during the scene with Finn and Kurt and his father. Chris Colfer is going to go far as an actor, assuming this role doesn't box him in.

Ok the Gaga episode actually worked for me. It wasn't my favorite but they did manage to put some real content and story line in it. I also got teary eyed during that scene!

I liked this episode as well. The only thing that irritated me was Kurt obviously lying about everything regarding Finn. He lies to himself, to Finn, and his father - putting the budding relationship between his father and Finn in jeopardy and forcing Finn to be uncomfortable. His entire intention was to get Finn in his bedroom. He's not over his crush. Every time Finn sings he's staring at him and getting all flustered and googly eyed. I understand completely why Finn would not be happy.

Other than that, KISS cracked me up and so did the Gaga song. And I was really surprised to hear Kurt sing with such a deep voice! He did an awesome job and it was a nice change to have others take the lead than Finn and Rachael.

I agree with Tunes: that whole moving in situation last week was in no way fair to Finn, considering how obvious Kurt has always made his interest. If either one of the kids were a girl, their parents wouldn't even have considered them sharing a room, even if their orientations didn't change.

I was glad to see the guys put their collective foot down on Gaga though; trying to give Puck and Finn the Gaga treatment would *never* have been believable (and I'm honestly not a fan of the Gaga collective and its poster girl anyway). The only male group that might say "Theatrical" louder than KISS is Guar, and I'm kind of glad they didn't attempt the stuff that goes with them (I'd MUCH rather see Puck's face than monster make up, stage blood, and fake vomit :D).

Funniest part for me, though: Principal Figgins equating Twilight with vampires and Vampires with Goth to make Tina a scapegoat for his own religiously-based superstitions. They proved to me that the writing team has actually researched Ohio public school administration and how backwards thinking usually runs things, or at least did when I survived one 10 years ago. Her response to it was hilarious, but would have gotten me suspended (and prayed for).

I finally got around to watching it today and I also teared up during the Finn, Kurt, Dad scene. We're all softies. :p

I don't really think the situation is fair to either of them. I mean Kurt is a very effeminate gay boy living in small town Ohio, with an unrequited, obsessive crush on his friend. There's no one in the town really like him, so he idealizes the guy who stood up for him and helped him out. And Finn is trying to do right by everyone. After losing Puck and the status he's know throughout public school, it seems like Kurt is one of his closest friends, and that is an awkward situation for him do be in. Gay or straight, having a best friend have a crush on you is not easy.
