That's awesome!! And those are great pictures. I so badly want to go to Peru. Have you seen any vicunas or guanacos? If they have the temperament of alpacas or llamas, I would suggest admiring them from a distance.

For animal science majors in farm areas, our "studying abroad" would probably have consisted of going to a nearby farm and sticking your arm up a cow's butt. :err:

Running around Peru seems waaaaaaayyy more fun.

We went to Awana Kancha, a place a bit north of the city of Cusco where they had llamas, vicuñas, guanacos, and alpacas! It was great. Llamas and alpacas are the only two domesticated, so you can't really get near the other two but vicuñas are absolutely adorable.
