Err! People!

So for the past week ive been looking for a ferret nation cage for my Benny... I havent been in a rush to get one. But I put an ad on craigslist, hoping someone just want to get rid of theirs. But everyone on craigslist has been asking 100 or so which I really dont want to spend on a used one. I rather get it cheap like 50 or less so I can make the fleece liners and tubes and what ever else I can make. I know it will probably have to be gutted out and replace with all wood. But anyways. i figure the less I spend on the cage the more I can spend on toys, treats and other things I want to spoil him with. I know people are trying to get their money back that they spent. These are some details I've been told... it takes too much room.. i had it for 6 years.. It has rust on it.. There are parts missing... LIKE REALLY!!! I know the cage runs for 200-300 but still it's not like the cage is at all new. If you want to get rid of it why don't you get the lowest price offered and just be done with it! errrr!!! Maybe i'm just picky.

With that being said. I got an email today.. This guy didnt have a ferret nation but was looking for a new home for his chinchilla and he figured I already have an chinchilla so I know how to take care of one. He lives an hour or so away from me and he needed to re-home him by noon. After 10 mins talking to my family about getting another one, They were alright with it. Benny doesn't get along with other Male chins but My sister wanted one in her room that was hers. PERFECT! I can give another chinchilla a good home. So I called him 15 mins after his email at 930 and asked If he is asking for a fee. he said no and he will meet me half way. (okay good enough for me) We text a few times and agreed on a spot well It was pretty much I told him where to meet me he didnt want to drive the 30 mins but was too on a tight schedule with taking my brother into work.. at 10 we agreed to met up at 11.

Well at 1030 i got a text that he was on his way but then at 1115ish i got a call saying that his friend said she will give his chinchilla a good home and that he just passed where I was at. He wanted the chinchilla to be closer to where he was.

Mean less to say, I was pretty upset for the past hour and a half I was happy to rescue another chin. My sister was even more bummed. I understand that he wanted the chin to be closer and get to see him... I'm not looking for another chin but I figured what was one more chin, he had to be desperate to ask me to take his chin in. I wouldnt of mind if he wasnt so lets do this then backed out after i drove 30 mins and waited another 15. Today is opening day of trout season so I was with my family and friends and I left the party and the fish were biting to rush because he was on a deadline too.

Thanks for listening to me rant. Sorry it was soo long, Just getting things off my chest.

I agree people can be miserable. I deal with people all the time and I can't tell how many times people come 2-3 hours after they say they will (with no phone call) or they don't show at all.
As for the FN cage if it is the 2 story one I doubt you will find one for less than $100 around here - I have looked also and I can't find one for $100 - all are for $150 or more. I not going to pay $150 for a used one but probably would pay $100

I cannot stand when people act like that. Something similar happened to me before. My friend works at a pet store and one day got a call from a girl who wanted to get rid of her chinchilla because she wanted a bunny. So, my friend called me asking if I wanted it, and I talked it over with my boyfriend and agreed. After some texting we were going to meet up at the store. About 45 minutes later she decided that she wanted money for it, and I said no thank you, as I was going to rescue him because she obviously didn't care about it. After much texting and aggravation, I just gave up. However, the next day I did text her again asking if she still wanted money for it or wanted to give it away. In return I received a nasty text from her mother saying that she had no intentions of getting rid of the family pet and the girl was actually in her early/mid-teens trying to do things her way--without even asking the family first.. LOL

And I know i'm reaching with the price... I'll probably splurge and buy one for 100.
even though My dad and boyfriend (which are both carpenters) said they will build me a cage... but I just see that becoming a mess and a fight. I will be too picky about everything cause everything has to be perfect and safe. I would want it one way and my dad will do it his way and It will just be a headache.

I had a similar situation with someone on Kijiji when I was selling a cell phone. The person agreed, and wanted to come that day. It was like a Tuesday or Monday if I remember, and I said that he could come before 6pm. I thought that was fair for a weeknight. At 6:15 he texted and asked if he could come at 7pm. I said yes. 7pm, 7:15, 7:30... 7:45, 8:15... no call, no text, nothing. So I texted him and asked if he intended to come at all. He said no. I was really angry because I spent my night waiting around unnecessarily, so I texted him saying that it was very disrespectful of him to not call and tell me. The text I got back, and I'm not kidding, was a threat on my personal safety (which we kept for several months afterwards in case anything happened.)

What is wrong with people? Some have no regard for other human beings at all, think that people should just wait after them and not get upset about it. News flash, the world does not revolve around you. Ugh!

I Know!! Thank goodness my sister is 16 and understands. but it still doesnt mean that she's not upset.
I'm sorry that you had the person threatened your life over something like you were just displeased with how he disrespected you. thank goodness nothing did happen.
