Just wondering if anyone knew some other sites I can purchase a guard from. I know about this one

but anytime I have looked to buy something from Chinworld, shipping is a total ripoff and Flower Town is in Canada

I ordered mine from Flower Town, and was very happy with them. And at the time I ordered them the US dollar was worth more so I paid less for them than what they have on their site. Not sure how it is right now.

But shipping is reasonable as well since they come in a flat envelope.

I have ordered both. No problem with either one. I usually just pick mine up at Chinworld.

I've ordered from Chinworld before and just paid the shipping since I couldn't find another place that sold them. They were very well packaged and came quickly in the mail.

Snickers, I think that Suzi's problem with ordering hers from Chinworld is that the shipping costs are prohibitively high (and they are). The shipping fees of many of my past Chinworld orders were quite a bit higher than the total cost of products that I bought. I live in the Midwest so I can only imagine how much she must be getting charged on the East Coast.

Suzi, after doing a quick search I learned that water buddies are no longer being made. Most likely, the guards will not be available for much longer either. You might want to just bite the bullet and order them while you still can. Perhaps if you have friends in the Chinworld area, they would pick up the guards for you and ship them at a reasonable cost.

When I tried to order some from chinworld, the shipping was $20. No joke. I tried emailing them to see if they'd lower the shipping cost. I mean, an envelope with two guards does not cost $20, and never heard back from them.

They also ran CnQ which they let go down without any notice.

I'd go with Flower Town, like I said, I was very pleased. And if you email them, they will get you shipping which is only a couple dollars.

Good to know that Flower Town has reasonable shipping fees, Alli.

However, I wish that FT would warn its users about the "sound effects" that appear when clicking on individual products. I was looking at their sleep boxes when suddenly, a panicked guinea pig began began chirping loudly through my speakers. I nearly leapt out of my chair thinking something horrible had happened to one of the chins (not a normal sound for a chinchilla). Scared the crap out of me.

shipping from chin world for one is $15! No way am I paying that. Don't know about flower town yet, have to wait for a shipping qoute from them.

I know what you mean about the noise! I hit it and I started looking around wondering which chin was making that noise and why, of course they were looking right back at me wondering the same thing :hilarious:

I just discovered that Ryerson's still has the water buddies for sale, too bad they don't have the guards. Their buddies are cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. I was able to order two water buddies, two show cages and 4 lbs of supplement for shipping of $11 for UPS ground... and chin world wants $15 shipping for ups ground on one little gaurd :wacko: I will probably just order the guards at flower town, I have one from them already and it has been fine

Wow, when I ordered mine it was about $12 and I thought that was ridiculous!

I'm using the guard that came with my cage from Quality Cage- http://qualitycage.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=129_142_143_151&products_id=1782. It looks bigger than the one you linked but it's also cheaper! They have 2 sizes.
