I was driving to a buddies house, and I thought something was actually wrong with my car. I get to the rugby house and my buddies go "Did you feel the earthquake?" So I guess it wasn't my car after all.

The newspaper had told some people evacuating buildings....for Christ sake, it was a 2. Now I'm a New Yorker but even I know that it isn't a big deal. Now the 6 or 5.9 whatever down south more, yeah that's a damper on the day.

Alex, if you go through another quake, don't run out of the house! More people are injured during earthquakes while trying to leave a building than anything else. The best thing to do is take cover under a very sturdy desk or table or to get next to a large piece of furniture. Standing in doorways is also dangerous.

I'm like Dawn...I'll take our quakes over tornadoes or hurricanes any day! The ground moving in waves for 30 seconds or so is better than having my house blown or washed away.

Glad to hear everyone was OK.

We are so used to them out here in Cali. But I am in agreement with Dawn and Tab. :)

I'm with Dawn, I'll take earthquakes any day (but then I grew up in CA). Interesting enough, the same day or next day there were two 5.6's in the bay area- I definitely jumped but then again was right by the epicenter.
Glad it was a small one (in both places) and more freaked people out instead of anyone getting hurt
