Well, I like singing to my chins too. They are just grateful Becky isn't here to sing to them instead. <snort, chortle>

I'll pay for that one, I'm sure.

Quinley - I look forward to learning about holistic medicine from you, as well as possible tips for massotherapy that may come in handy at some point. I'm always happy to learn about non-chemical treatments for my chins (and other pets) if at all possible.

Tilly - You didn't cause any trouble. We all just got a little worked up from different sides. :)

I didnt mean to start any problems. sorry guys... thanks though everyone for all of your good intentions. How long will they be okay without a dehumidifier? I am going to search for one tomorrow and order one online tomorrow if I do not find one. Will they be alright if I cannot get one until a shipped one would arrrive?
Tilly, you didn't start any problems. They should be fine until a dehumidifier arrives. Just make sure you give them extra dust baths.

Walmart type places have dehumidifiers. You shouldn't have a problem finding one.

The problem with massage is that many chins don't like to be touched. If they do, fine. If not, the stress handling them would be terrible.

Edited to add: My chins love country music. I sing along with the music on occasion. Unlike Peggy, I actually CAN sing!

Is you claiming to be able to sing the same as Peggy claiming to be Gerard Butler's fiance?:laughitup:

ROFL. Not even close, Meany! You can believe what I say, unlike someone else we both know!

Tunes, THANK YOU for expressing interest in holistic treatment. I feel that not enough people appreciate the importance of the mind-body-spirit connection. Treating illness whether in humans or animals does NOT mean only killing off microscopic invaders with synthesized drugs and it drives me crazy when people view drugs as the be all and end all. :banghead: You have to consider the whole being and of course the focus should ALWAYS be on prevention. I feel very passionate about this topic as you can see, so once again please forgive me for climbing on my soapbox. :hug2:

Becky: You are correct in that massaging chins who are avoidant to touch will only stress them out more. Each chin has his or her own personality and every chin is different so there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. For example, my two younger boys LOVE LOVE LOVE to be cuddled but my oldest one, forget it. Again I am only sharing what I personally do with my chins which may or may not work for others. ;)

Tilllygizmo: Like the others suggested, a dehumidifier is a MUST to avoid dampness and resulting moldiness. They are not too expensive and is well worth the investment. Until you can get one, giving extra dustbaths is a GREAT idea and will go a long way to help your chins be comfortable. :)
