I will soon have a FN 142 cage, no pics, yet. Once I have the cage I will also have 2 Chins!!!

Very excited about it all.

How do I clean the cage with the little ones in there? Do I need to take them out somehow?

They will only be around 3-4 months old...Advise me please.

I think that depends on what type of cleaning you want to do.

My guy in the FN 142 is litter trained, so when I just want to sweep up the poop every day, i try to keep him in the cage [sometimes he jumps out..], but when I do the once a week cleaning of the cage, I do it when he's out of the cage for his playtime running around the room.

You can do whatever works for you, and at that age he can come out and play, as long as it's a chin safe area.

I leave all of my chins in their cages, unless I am wiping them down. They don't open an eye when I turn the vacuum on, and they usually just stay in their fleece tubes when I clean.

i am neurotic and have my hands in their cages several times a day, each time i sweep up poo, wipe down any pee and straighten up the havoc they have caused.
when i do a super clean, i take them out and put them in the bathroom.
but for me, by keeping on top of it daily, cuts down on the "deep" cleaning!

If i am just sweeping up some poops i leave them in. But to change litter and wipe down shelves and stuff i take them out for playtime. Always have someone watch them though.

So far I have left them in the cage; but they are getting so used to me that they're getting closer and closer to hopping out. I can see I'm going to have to put them in a carrier, or have my husband watch them in the bathroom while I'm cleaning. (Or better yet, he can clean... yeah right!!!) ;)
