Ive had my girl for about a week now and she ran out of her cage while i was cleaning it and started exploring my room for an hour before i was able to get her back in the cage. Now, being the day after, she chews at spots on the cage and lifts up the bedding like she’s searching for an escape. Also making it difficult to clean the cage as she runs right up to the door every time i open it. Shes very new so she doesn’t respond to her name or trust me very much, thats why it took me over an hour to get her back. Any advice?

That is odd though. My chinchilla would hide in her tube while I cleaned when I first got her. You could put in playpen in front of the cage to keep her contained. If you have a double critter/ferret nation, you could also block her off in one section while you clean.
